The competition for market share this season is fierce. Marketing budgets are stretched thin. Fortunately, there are some things that you can do to increase sales without breaking the bank. A couple of days ago, we posted "Five (Almost) Free Ways to Increase Your Sales This Holiday Season." This post is for the people who emailed me with "Got any more ideas?"

It started out innocent enough. I appreciate the people who make this blogging and social media thing worth the time and effort. My planned post was an excerpt from "Social Media 4 Direct Marketers." Just before posting it, I decided to add this:

If you are using anything to validate that visitors are human before they can enter your site, you are locking out opportunity. The easier you make it for people to access you, your website, and your company, the more likely they will do it. Yes, you'll receive some spam, but it can be quickly eliminated.
